The only team to really challenge the Dawson Eagles this season was Clear Springs which is the newest high school from Clear Creek ISD. The two schools played one another in the second game of the 2007 football season and the Eagles returned home with a hard-fought 32-29 win.
But the two teams agreed to play one another for the second time this season and Clear Springs handed Dawson their first loss in school history at the Junior Varsity level.
It appeared that Dawson would run away with the game like they have done the previous six games following their first meeting with Clear Springs. At 8-0, the Eagles have been on an incredible roll - virtually unchallenged - outscoring their previous five opponents 207-6.
After the two teams traded punts in the first quarter, it took only three plays for the Eagles to get on the scoreboard as fullback Akeem Blackshire burned the Clear Springs defense for a sensational 64-yard jaunt for a touchdown. The extra point by Stuart Watkins was good making the score 7-0 with 6:27 left in the opening period.
Both defenses stiffened up to force a couple of punts by each team.

With 9:30 left in the second quarter, Dawson set up their offense at their own 17. It took eight-plays to complete the 83-yard scoring drive capped off by a 12-yard run by quarterback Darian Lazard. Watkins hit the extra point for the 14-0 lead.
Two key plays in the drive included a pass from Lazard to Piaget Gauthier for 38 yards and a screen pass from Lazard to Blackshire for 21 yards to the Clear Springs 12.
Once again, the Dawson defense forced another punt which went out of bounds on the Dawson 7-yard line.
Facing third-and-seven from the 10, Lazard swept the right side of his offensive line who paved the way for an incredible 90-yard scoring dash with 1:42 left in the first half. The extra point missed the mark leaving the Eagles with a 20-0 lead.

But the Chargers weren't going to go away as they set up at their own 22 with 1:31 left before intermission. All it took was one pass to cover 78-yards for the scoring bomb. The Chargers ran for the 2-point conversion to cut the lead to 20-8 at halftime.
Dawson dominated the first half and Clear Springs came out early to grab the momentum to begin the second half.
The Chargers began their drive at their own 40 and found the pay station in nine-plays to complete the 60-yard drive. The extra point was good cutting the lead to 20-15 with 8:39 remaining in the third quarter.
Dawson drove from their 43 to the Clear Springs 34 before fumbling the ball which was picked up and returned for a 56-yard touchdown. The extra point was good and the Chargers had a 22-20 lead at the 6:07 mark of the third period.
After Clear Springs forced Dawson to punt after three plays netted only three yards, the Chargers took possession at their own 37 with 4:17 still remaining in the third period.

It took only seven plays for the Chargers to score again on a 41-yard pass. The extra point found the mark for a 29-20 lead with 1:19 left in the third frame.
Dawson drove from their own 49 to the Clear Springs 9-yard line. On first and goal, the Eagles moved the ball to the four-yard line. Facing fourth down, Watkins attempted a 21-yard field goal which was blocked by the Chargers to shut down the scoring threat.
After the Dawson defense finally shut down the Chargers to force a punt, the Eagles began a drive at their own 49. Lazard tossed a short pass to Blackshire for a 24-yard gain. A personal foul on Clear Springs moved the ball to the 7-yard line. Two plays later, Lazard scored on a two-yard run. The extra point was blocked leaving the score 29-26 in favor of the Chargers with 3:32 left in the final stanza.
The onside kick attempt was recovered by Clear Springs at their own 49. After driving to the Dawson 25, the Chargers were stopped on fourth down leaving Dawson one more chance to win the game.
The Eagles moved from their own 25 to the 45. Facing fourth-and-four, a bad snap allowed the Chargers to sack the quarterback and take over the ball with 40 seconds left in the game. Clear Springs ran out the clock for the upset win.
Dawson is now 8-1 overall and will close out the 2007 football campaign on Thursday, November 8 at The Rig against Clear Creek at 7:00 p.m.

The Dawson Eagles continue to roll past their opponents in their first year of competition and the game against the Brazoswood JV team proved to be more of the same as head coach Eric Wells saw his chargers pound the Buccaneers 46-6.
Dawson is now 8-0 for the season and have only two games remaining before the end of the 2007 football campaign.
The past four weeks have seen the Eagles outscore Alvin, Memorial, Clear Brook, and Kingwood Park 161-0 while spanning 16 quarters of scoreless football by the Dawson defense.
The Eagles improved to 18 scoreless quarters with a 21-0 halftime lead against Brazoswood.

Beginning the game at their own 27, Dawson needed only four plays to get on the scoreboard for a 7-0 lead at the 9:43 mark.
Quarterback Darian Lazard dropped back to find Anthony Miles behind the Bucs defense for a 47-yard completion to the Brazoswood 23. Lazard tossed a shuttle pass to Akeem Blackshire who used his shifty moves and speed to burst through the Bucs' defense for the touchdown.
After the Dawson defense forced a Brazoswood punt, the Eagles marched from their own 35 to the Bucs' 18 before turning the ball over on a fumble.

Starting at their own 12, Brazoswood gave the ball back to the Eagles as Michael Asonye snared an interception with a return to the five-yard line.
It took only one play for Blackshire to find the end zone on a five-yard run behind the offensive line of Aaron Davis, Jarrett Hill, Kameron Decoteau, Nicholas Chapa, and Derrick Axtell.

Stuart Watkins hit the extra point giving Dawson a 14-0 lead with 4:33 left in the opening period.
Brazoswood began their next possession at the Dawson 45 and moved to the 34. On first down, Brazoswood attempted a long pass which was picked off by Caleb Williams in the end zone.

The Eagles began at their own 20 and took 11-plays to complete the 80-yard drive capped off by a one-yard sneak by Lazard. Watkins booted the PAT for a 21-0 lead at intermission.
Antonio Brown came up with the third interception of the game by the Eagles with 7:56 left in the first half, but Dawson couldn't cash in on the turnover.
However, Brown came up with another outstanding play to begin the second half as he recovered a fumble by the Bucs on the kickoff at the 22.

Xavier Brown got the call on two straight plays with a 20 yard dash and a two-yard scoring run. The extra point was no good leaving the Eagles ahead 27-0 with 10:42 remaining in the third period.
After Brazoswood was forced to punt after three plays netted seven yards, the Eagles went back to work on their own 48.
Brown ripped off a run covering 28 yards, Blackshire gained seven yards to the Bucs' 13. Blackshire covered the distance on the next play for the score. Watkins added the extra point for a commanding 34-0 advantage with 7:49 still left in the third quarter.

Brazoswood finally put together an offensive drive from their own 47 to the Dawson 27. An incomplete pass, a nine-yard sack and a run for no gain, Brazoswood faced fourth-and-18 from the Dawson 36. A long pass was caught by a Brazoswood receiver who went between two Dawson defenders at the one-yard line. The Bucs scored on the next play to make the score 34-6 after the two-point try came up short.
That broke the scoreless streak for the Eagles, but only served as a motivator for Dawson to make sure the Bucs didn't get close again.
The Eagles added two more scores before the final buzzer to make the final score 46-6.

Fullback Akeem Blackshire led the ground attack with eight carries for 86 yards and two touchdowns. Quarterback Darian Lazard hit 9-of-16 passing for 161 yards and one touchdown while picking up 65 yards on 10 totes for two more scores. Tailback Xavier Brown had five carries for 36 yards and one touchdown. Dominique Chatman had three carries for 19 yards and one score.
Dawson will face Clear Springs on Friday, November 2 at The Rig at 7:00 p.m. The Eagles knocked off Clear Springs 32-29 in the second game of the season. This is the closest any team has gotten to knocking off the undefeated Eagles.

The Dawson Eagles traveled to play the new Kingwood Park Panthers earlier in the season and returned home with a 38-16 victory. The Panthers scored a meaningless touchdown in the final period. That was the last time that a team has scored on the Eagles as Dawson hasn't allowed a score in the past 16 quarters while outscoring their opponents 161-0. Dawson is now 7-0 in their first season of existence.
Kingwood Park came to Pearland to face Dawson for a rematch and head coach Eric Wells and his players sent the Panthers home with a 35-0 spanking.
Akeem Blackshire took the opening kickoff 51 yards to the Kingwood Park 29, but three plays later, the Eagles turned the ball over on a fumble at the 13 to end the scoring threat.
Kingwood Park was forced to punt after three plays netted only three yards, but the Eagles suffered another fumble giving the Panthers the ball deep in Dawson territory at the 18.

Once again - the Dawson defense stepped up to turn away the scoring threat at their own 2.
The Eagles offense set up at their own two-yard line and it took five plays to score as Xavier Brown ran through the Panther defense for an 11-yard scoring run with 11 seconds remaining in the first quarter. Stuart Watkins hit the extra point for a 7-0 lead.
One of the key plays in the drive was a pass from quarterback Darian Lazard to wide receiver Marcus Vaughn covering 33 yards. Blackshire also had a key run for 23 yards.

With 10:05 left in the second quarter, Dawson got the ball back at their own 47 after forcing Kingwood Park to punt for the second time in the game.
Blackshire opened up with a 25 yard run. Lazard hit Blackshire on a short pass that netted 17 yards to the Panthers 11. Lazard picked up nine yards on a keeper before Blackshire bolted across the goal line on a two-yard run for the score. Watkins booted the extra point for a 14-0 lead at the 8:28 mark of the second period.

After forcing another punt, Dawson got the ball on their own 28 and moved to the Panthers 23 before another fumble cost them another touchdown opportunity as the first half came to an end.
It was more of the same in the second half as Blackshire scored on a 51-yard run to make the score 21-0. Blackshire took a screen pass from Lazard resulting in a 47-yard scoring jaunt for a 28-0 lead. Lazard put the finishing touches on the game with a two-yard quarterback sneak for a touchdown. Watkins added his fifth extra point of the game to make the final score 35-0.

Blackshire had 12 carries for 201 yards and two touchdowns while catching three passes for 77 yards and another score. The sophomore fullback finished with 278 total yards and three touchdowns plus he had a kickoff return for 51 yards giving him over 300 all-purpose yards.
Lazard also is a duel threat as he had 13 carries for 94 yards and one score while hitting 8-of-17 passing for 163 yards and one TD. That gave him 257 total yards and two touchdowns.
Brown had six carries for 61 yards and one score while Dominique Chatman had four totes for 11 yards.
Marcus Vaughn had three catches for 56 yards while Piaget Gauthier added one grab for 17 yards and Anthony Miles had one catch for 13 yards.
The Eagles will host Brazoswood on Thursday, October 25 at Prensner Stadium at 7:00 p.m.

In another dominating display of offense and defense, the Dawson Eagles literally ran past a hapless Clear Brook JV squad that was outmanned from the beginning of the contest to remain perfect on the season at 6-0. The 43-0 score wasn't indicative of how many points the Eagles could have put on the scoreboard.
While the offense has been dominating this season, the defense has also made their mark. The Eagles haven't allowed a score since the fourth period in their game with Kingwood Park. Dawson has blanked Alvin JV 41-0, Memorial 42-0, and Clear Brook 43-0 for a 126-0 run over the past 12 quarters.
Dawson opened up the game with a six-play, 55-yard scoring drive that was capped off with a seven-yard run by Akeem Blackshire. Stuart Watkins booted the extra point for a 7-0 lead with 7:05 left in the first quarter.
Clear Brook fumbled the ball on their first possession that was recovered by James Jefferson to give the Eagles the ball at the Brook 42.

It took Dawson only six plays to find the end zone as Blackshire scored his touchdown of the game on a sparkling 23-yard run. Watkins added the extra point and the Eagles were in command 14-0 with 2:01 still left in the first period.
The Wolverines ran only two plays before a defensive hard hit jolted the ball loose which was recovered by Lawrence Alanis at the Brook 45.
Quarterback Darian Lazard pitched the ball to Marcus Vaughn who set sail around right end for a crowd-pleasing 32-yard scoring dash with 9:50 left in the second quarter. Watkins hit the PAT giving the Eagles a 21-0 advantage.

The teams traded punts and then Dawson set up at the Brook 47. Lazard got in on the action with a quarterback keeper that took him to the right side of the Brook defense. One defender had the angle on Lazard as he broke down the right sideline, but the signal-caller shifted into another gear to blow past the Brook defensive back to complete a sensational 49-yard scoring jaunt. The PAT missed the mark leaving Dawson with a 27-0 lead with only 1:59 remaining before intermission.
However, with 38 seconds remaining, Dawson got the ball back at their own 46. Lazard hit Piaget Gauthier with two passes covering 29 yards and one toss to Anthony Miles for 13 yards to the Brook 12. Watkins was call on to attempt a 30-yard field goal which went straight through the uprights giving Dawson a 30-0 halftime lead.

It was all Dawson in the second half as Blackshire scored again on a 12-yard run. Xavier Brown added the final score with 4:30 left in the third quarter on a 22-yard scamper making the final score 43-0. That's when head coach Eric Wells emptied his bench as the Eagles coasted to the win.
The Eagles finished with 468 total yards with 382 coming on the ground. Blackshire had seven carries for 69 yards and three touchdowns. Brown had 14 totes for 150 yards and a score. Lazard had 101 yards rushing and a touchdown while hitting 8-of-14 passing through the air for 86 yards.

Jordan Rose led the defensive unit with 12 tackles and two forced fumbles. James Jefferson, Lawrence Alanis, Antonio Brown, and Robert Seals all recovered fumbles. Also contributing on defense was Michael Proctor, Dominique Charles, Jackie Wysinger, and Alex Burton.
Dawson will host Clear Creek on Thursday, October 18, at 7:00 p.m. at The Rig.

Head coach Eric Wells has seen his football team establish an early reputation of smash-mouth football and other teams are getting the message.
The Eagles are in their first year of existence and have played other new schools in the Houston area. Dawson is 5-0 overall and have not had much resistence. Their closest game to date is a 32-29 win over the new Clear Springs HS of Clear Creek ISD.
Other schools that began this season that have been on the Dawson schedule have already sent a message back to Wells that they don't want to play the Eagles again next year. Those schools include Magnolia West (20-6) and Kingwood Park (38-16). Dawson wacked Alvin JV 41-0 while taking out Spring Branch Memorial 42-0 last week.
Actually, Dawson was supposed to play Lamar, but they backed out early in the week so Memorial was a last minute replacement and victim of the Eagles' aggressive offense and defense that held the Mustangs to 15 total yards.

"Our defense had 17 plays that resulted in negative yardage for Memorial," Wells said. "Our kids started out a little slow, but picked up the momentum to totally dominate the game on both sides of the ball."
On Dawson's first possession of the game, quarterback Darian Lazard threw two perfect passes that were dropped by two different players who were wide open for a touchdown.
After the Eagles got rid of the early miscues -- Lazard and Co. got untracked in the middle of the second quarter as fullback Akeem Blackshire broke through the Memorial defense for an 18-yard scoring dash. The two-point conversion was good for an 8-0 lead with 7:57 remaining in the first half.

It took the Eagles less than two minutes to score again as Lazard hit Marcus Vaughn for a nine-yard scoring toss with 3:37 left in the second period. The extra point by Stuart Watkins was good for a 15-0 lead.
After Memorial went three-and-out, Dawson scored again as Lazard hit Piaget Gauthier for a 49-yard scoring bomb. The extra point missed the mark as the Eagles had a 21-0 lead with 1:52 remaining in the first half.

Dawson's Robert Seals recovered a Memorial fumble on the second half kickoff and it took the Eagles only four plays to score as Lazard and Gauthier hooked up again for an eight-yard scoring toss. Watkins booted the extra point and the Eagles went to the dressing room at the half with a commanding 28-0 lead.
David Farris started the second half with a 50-yard kickoff return for the Eagles to the Memorial 26. Two straight carries netted tailback Xavier Brown a touchdown with the latter carry covering 16-yards. The extra point by Watkins was good and the Eagles were ahead 35-0 with only 39 seconds gone in the third quarter.

Blackshire added the final score on the next possession with a sparkling 55-yard scoring jaunt. Watkins was true with the extra point and the 42-0 final score was posted with 8:02 remaining in the third period.
Wells emptied the bench and got to see a lot of other players in action for the rest of the contest.
"I was really pleased with the overall play of our team," Wells said. "We got to see some of our other players get some valuable experience that will help build up their confidence as we continue to grow as a team."

The Dawson Eagles continue to roll past their opponents in their first season of competition for a perfect 5-0 record.
The Alvin JV Yellowjackets became the next victim for the Eagles as the offense and defense totally dominated on both sides of the ball.
Akeem Blackshire started the game off with an 85-yard kickoff return to open up the scoring. Stuart Watkins added the extra point making the score 7-0.
That was only the beginning as the Eagles scored on every drive of the first half to make the score 34-0 at halftime.
Blackshire scored the second touchdown of the game on a 60-yard scamper.
Quarterback Darian Lazard threw a perfect pass to Piaget Gauthier covering 45 yards to make the score 21-0.
Tailback Xavier Brown got in on the scoring with a two-yard run. Lazard completed the scoring of the first half with another scoring toss to Anthony Miles who caught the perfect past and then split the defenders to win the race to the end zone covering 25-yards for a 34-0 advantage at intermission.

As he has done all season, Lazard added the final touchdown on another jaw-dropping 63-yard scoring jaunt leaving the Alvin defenders in his dust. Watkins hit his fifth extra point making the final score 41-0.
The Dawson defense again put up a stellar effort holding the Yellowjackets out of the endzone to record their first shutout of the season. The defense allowed only two first downs in the game, both coming in the second half while allowing only 45 total yards.
Leading the defense was Gabriel Gaeta, Robert Seals, Jordan Rose, and Antonio Brown. Alex Burton recorded an interception as the defense allowed the Jackets crossed midfield only once.
The Eagles will host Spring Branch Memorial at The Rig on Thursday, October 4 at 6:00 p.m.
The Eagles will host Spring Branch Memorial at The Rig on Thursday, October 4 at 6:00 p.m.

The Dawson Eagles continued their perfect season with a solid 38-16 victory over Kingwood Park which is another new high school in Kingwood.

Akeem Blackshire got the game started in the right direction as the hard-running fullback returned the opening kickoff 70 yards to set up the Eagle offense on the Kingwood Park 20. Quarterback Darian Lazard capped off the outstanding return four plays later with a five-yard scoring run for a 7-0 lead.
Kingwood Park attempted to take back the momentum on their opening drive as they moved to the Eagles three-yard line that was set up by a 30-yard pass completion. The Panthers scored but missed the extra point leaving the game tied at 6-6.
The Eagles went back to work on offense to add two more touchdowns in the first half as Blackshire got loose again for a 40-yard scoring jaunt giving Dawson a 12-6 lead.
With seven seconds left before intermission, Micah Tillostin hauled in a sensational 30-yard pass from Lazard making the score 18-6 at the half.
The Dawson defense forced Kingwood Park to punt on their opening drive of the second half. The Eagles took over at their 40 and Lazard wowed the crowd with a jaw-dropping 60-yard scoring run while breaking four tackles on his way to paydirt.

The Eagles defense forced another Kingwood Park punt to take over at their own 30. It took only one play as Blackshire ripped off a 70-yard scoring dash that left the Panthers choking in his heel dust for a 30-6 lead.
Blackshire added another scoring run to increase the Dawson lead to 38-10. The hard-running sophomore finished the game with 150 yards on 12 carries.
Kingwood Park scored a meaningless touchdown late in the fourth period to make the final score 38-16.
Lazard had 120 yards on seven carries while hitting 3-of-10 passing for 59 yards and a score. Tailback Xavier Brown had 72 tough yards on 10 carries. Dominique Chatman and James Henney also got some playing time. Chatman had eight yards and Henry picked up 24 yards.
The Eagles offense racked up 424 yards of total offense.
Leading the Eagles defense was Jordan Rose who had another outstanding game as he posted double-digit tackles, grabbed an interception, and caught a two-point conversion. Judson Robinson paced the way on the defensive line while Elroy Dozier had an interception in the secondary.
The Eagle are now 3-0 and will seek to keep their perfect season intact when they travel to face the Alvin JV on Thursday, September 27 at 6:30 p.m. at Alvin Memorial Stadium.

The Dawson Eagle Red team played a complete game and pulled out a nail biter 32-29 over the Clear Springs Chargers which is a new high school for Clear Creek ISD.
Quarterback Darian Lazard put on an offensive display hitting 9-of-18 passing for 165 yards while wowing the fans on both sides of District Stadium with a jaw-dropping 233 yards rushing on only 21 carries for two touchdowns.
Lazard's final score was a 63-yard cross-country run with a little over four minutes left in the game to give the Eagles their final margin of victory. The key block came from Marcus Vaughn who pounded two Clear Spring defenders at the same time that opened up the path to the goal line for Lazard.
Running back Xavier Brown continued his outstanding play as he added 55 yards rushing on 12 carries while Akeem Blackshire had 120 yards rushing with three touchdowns and 49 yards receiving on two catches.
On the receiving end of Lazard's passes were Piaget Gauthier who had five snags for 94 yards. Anthony Miles grabbed a pass for eight yards and Marcus Vaughn caught one pass for nine yards.
The Eagle offense racked up 576 total yards.
The offensive line did a good job controlling the line of scrimmage led by Derek Axtell, Nicholas Chapa, Aaron Davis, and tight end Max Brown opening huge holes and providing great pass protection all night.
The Dawson defense played well in earning the victory with three caused turnovers, highlighted by an interception by David Farris with a little over two minutes left in the game to secure the victory.

Also, playing well on defense was Jordan Rose, who caused a fumble, and Lawrence Alanise who returned an interception in a crucial point in the game. The Eagle defensive line played well as they were in the Chargers backfield the entire game. The defensive line has a rotation of Jackie Wysinger, James Jefferson, Judson Robinson, Robert Seals, Michael Proctor, and Bobby Deneke.
The exciting win keeps the Eagles perfect in their inaugural season at 2-0. Dawson will travel to face the new Kingwood Park Panthers on Thursday, September 20 at Kingwood Park High School. Game time is at 7:00 p.m.

The atmosphere at The Rig for the first football game in the history of Dawson High School was magical to say the least. Even though the Eagles are competing at the Junior Varsity level for their first year in existence, the Dawson parents and students made a statement with close to 2,000 people in attendance to be a part of the history-making event.
Of course - it didn't hurt that the Eagles won their first game over the Magnolia West Mustangs 20-6 in a game that saw head coach Eric Wells and his young eaglets totally dominate the game.
"This is really exciting," Wells said. "The coaches and kids have worked really hard for this moment and I am really proud of their effort."
With just a few fans for Magnolia West, which is also a new school, in attendance, the parents and students at Dawson sent a loud and clear message that they are proud of their new school and they are going to usher in a new tradition with strong support.
"This is exciting to see the birth of a new school," Pearland ISD superintendent Dr. Bonny Cain said. "Everyone has really been looking forward to this game and the beginning of the new school year at Dawson."
From the outset of the game, the Dawson cheerleaders, the Diamond Dancers, and the DHS band were in full support mode which made the whole evening a magical moment to remember. It will serve as a point for many to be able to say that they were there from the beginning.
Of course, it didn't hurt that the JV football team served up notice that they were going to be a team to be reckoned with — new or not.
Dawson received the opening kickoff and the offense promptly drove the ball down the field for a touchdown.

Beginning at their own 44, quarterback Darian Lazard set the offense in motion with a strong ground attack with fullback Akeem Blackshire and tailback Xavier Brown following the offensive line of Adrian Estrada, Aaron Davis, Ricardo Rojas, Jarrett Hill, Derrick Axtell, and Max Brown.
The Eagles scored for the first time in school history on a two-yard run by Blackshire to complete the 12-play, 56-yard scoring march that took 6:11 off the game clock. Stuart Watkins booted the extra point for a 7-0 lead with 5:37 left in the opening quarter.
The teams traded out two punts each before Dawson began another strong drive at their own 14.
That's when Blackshire stepped up his game to show Eagle fans that he is going to be a force in the years ahead.
The sophomore fullback ripped off runs of 29, 4, and 35 yards during the drive while Lazard completed a pass to Anthony Myles for 18 yards.
The Eagles were set up on the Mustangs five-yard line, but fumbled the ball in the Magnolia West end zone that shut down the scoring opportunity.
The first half ended with Dawson holding a 7-0 lead at intermission.
Once again, Dawson scored on their first possession of the second half. Beginning at their own 39, Magnolia West had no answer for the hard running of Blackshire as he ripped off runs of 16 and 43 yards. Blackshire added is second score on a four-yard blast. Watkins nailed the extra point for a 14-0 lead with 8:36 left in the third period.

Dawson would score again on their next possession as sophomore tailback Xavier Brown scored on a three-yard sweep. The touchdown capped a seven-play, 73-yard scoring drive. Brown rushed for 38 yards with a key play came from quarterback Darian Lazard completing a 34 yard pass to Piaget Gauthier setting up the three-yard scoring run. The extra point missed the mark with :46 remaining in the third period giving the Eagles a commanding 20-0 advantage.
The Eagles' defensive unit of Robert Seals, James Jefferson, Alex Burton, Chaz Boutte, Lawrence Alanis, Jordan Rose, Caleb Williams, Gabriel Gaeta, David Farris, Wesley McCowin, and Elroy Dozier were among some of the defensive standouts that shut down the Mustangs offense.
At the end of the third quarter, Magnolia West moved the ball to the Eagles six-yard line, but an outstanding defensive stand thwarted the scoring threat as Seals tackled a Mustang runner at the Dawson two-yard line on fourth down.
At the end of the third quarter, Magnolia West moved the ball to the Eagles six-yard line, but an outstanding defensive stand thwarted the scoring threat as Seals tackled a Mustang runner at the Dawson two-yard line on fourth down.

Magnolia West finally finally crossed the goal line with 2:28 left in the game as Wells sent in his reserves to give as many players possible the opportunity to play and be a part of the firs-ever win. The extra point was no good and the 20-6 final score was posted to an elated Dawson crowd.
